Ultimarc Trackball (Is it ok to do this)
« on: June 23, 2006, 08:02:55 pm »
Has anyone tried this or is it safe to do this?  I was thinking about taking the top peace of plastic off (just the piece that helps hold the trackball in place) to make the ball be more exposed through my plexi-glass.  The ball still stays in place just fine and is still turning the gears as it should.  Anyone see a problem with doing this?

Check out the Mega Super Duper Huge 4 Player Cocktail in the Project announcements section. That is what he did.

I did this with mine, make sure you put some spacers on the 4 mounting bolts so you can fasten it tight to the underside of the control panel otherwise it will come loose.

Also make sure the encoder wheels don't touch the underside of the control panel, I routed out a small length for each wheel so I could mount the ball higher.

Sorry no pics
Cheers Eric
