Sanyo EZ20 adjustments

Howdy! I recently did a cap kit on my DK Sanyo monitor. Great results! Some of the old cap legs were not even connected anymore! I know that on GO7 monitors that after doing a cap kit that you should always adjust the B+ voltage. What adjustments are needed to a Sanyo EZ20? And what is the black knob on the control board near the edge on the bottom? I can not find a purpose and therefore do not want to disturb it since the picture looks so good. Thank's in advance.

That is vertical centering control. It is not connected for most Nintendo machines.

Thank's Ken! The colors almost seem TOO bright. I tried adjusting the brightness controls on the aux. board and the flyback. It almost seems that it is pumping out too much color.That is why I asked if there was any voltage adjustments needed.

As far as the SCREEN control on the flyback - unplug your video signal, turn the monitor on, turn the screen up just a bit, and adjust this back down until you get a nice black screen just as the white raster disappears. Then leave it alone while you adjust the rest. (plug your video back in)

The individual colors can be adjusted on the neck board.
The drive and bias controls.
You could "check" the B+ voltage, but it probably has never been touched.
The colors on the other hand.......have probably been tweaked on as the monitor aged to try and compinsate for it.
So now that you have "freshened" all the caps, you may just need to adjust those back a bit.
Start by turning the "drive" pots down a tad.
There's only two drives - Red and Blue - Green drive is not adjustable.
Then adjust on all three color bias controls if needed.

Kevin - Moocho thank's! The drive pots were indeed up ALL the way! The picture is now purrrrrrfect. I tried doing searches for a manual on the 20EZ but did not have any luck. Many thank's to this forum. I have been reading it for about 6 months now and have gained alot of info.

Good deal...... that pretty typical to find after they start to get old.
The drives should actually only be barely turnded up if all else is working good.

We're not all experts.
But willing to help if we can.
