Question about Neo geo controller pinout
« on: June 20, 2006, 03:44:37 pm »
pinout: http://www.gamesx.com/controldata/neocont.htm
converter: http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=180&products_id=3707&PHPSESSID=6361ed1a6995344025d85b4d180c065c

On that website it shows that pins 2 and 10 are NC. I was wondering though if they are still wired into the controller. Reason being is because there is an adapter that lets you convert your PSX/2 pad to work on Neogeo but you could use this adapter and since each button is mapped to a pin on the cord and since it's only a DB-15 connector you can wire it into anything!!! Of course you'll probably have to solder. Right now it's good for doing like 4 buttons and start and select so like Tekken style but I wanted to use the converter and hack it to work on my Jamma board. Hopefully it is connected. If anyone knows please respond. Thanx.

I think those are targetted for the AES (the Neo-Geo home system), rather than the MVS (the arcade version)?

Cheers

Yes, I know that. I don't think you're getting my point. Rather than making a microcontroller to wire to the Jamma, since the NG AES controllers have designated pins per command you can just add a DB-15 male and take each comman and wire it to the Jamma board. Only thing is I need 2 more buttons because I will be using these on Capcom fighting games and I want to make a converter like some candy cabs have and let you plug in your psx controller. Thanx.

You're right ... I didn't get that part ...

To clear things up for me, are you looking to use these with real JAMMA boards or an emulator ?

Cheers.
