GOLDEN TEE CUSTOM BARTOP
« on: June 15, 2006, 10:10:07 pm »
I'd like to here some opinions on these cabs:

Are they worth the $$ ? I'm not all that familiar with GT but how does one get in the online tourneys with one of these? Isn't that an I.T product option only?

I have no idea how nice it is, I just know when I read the line "nothing stronger - you could park your car on this machine!" I picture the scene from Napolean Dynamite where he runs over the tupperware and picture this machine in place of the tupperware.

I've never played Golden Tee, but from all that I've seen about its gameplay... Isn't that screen to trackball positioning a little dangerous?

Are they worth the $$ ?

Totally!!  That is, as long as you love hospital trips and broken fingers.

Unless you can master the "double thumb technique" for winging that trackball forward on your driving swings........ looks like a knuckle buster for sure.

Besides for a bid starting at $1000 .... I'd look at a full size machine anyways.

If you really want the "portable" idea.... I know I have seen units that were basically just a portable control panel that plugged into most televisions. Or something like that. Custom built of course. I don't really recall the details.
But a much safer idea. Set it on a coffee table or something and go for it. Nothing directly in front of you to bust a finger on.
Not a technician . . . . just a DIY'er.

Yup, it's basically a Supergun built around the official GT control panels.

I dunno where you're located, but for that price, someone has a full size on one on Craigslist for $1100 in the Detroit area right now:

I'm sure if McCoy weren't on vacation, he'd be considering it.

Nah, I wasn't really considering buying it. I know I could build one for a bit less. I just wanted to hear others thoughts on it.

Give me the rental car, I'm coming home.  How far is it to Detroit from Denver?
