I really think Cocktails Anyone? would fit the front of the coin very well, and while being an inside joke, would be easilly explained to anyone who saw the picture of the cocktail cabinet there on the same piece of shiny metal.

I have stated my feelings about the other matter in the other thread.  This is a positive post. Please consider voting for the slogan I suggested: Cocktails Anyone?

I again think "Cocktails Anyone" is a great front side slogan... fits well with the artwork...

I would love to see "Yestrerday's Games Today" on the backside but would equally be happy with "Build, Restore, Play"....

if "All your games..." does win I will be disapointed, but I will also still buy them as the artwork is awesome this year...

I just think that because the artwork invaders/ cocktail are nice and retro we need a slogan that  highlights that we are playing what we played in our younger years....

the cocktail cabinet for me reminds me of going to "Pizza Hut" as a kid and begging my dad for quarters to play on the games they had in cocktail cabinets (usually right by the front enterance) untill the hot pizza arrived....

Yeah except for the damn Pizza hut in south Texas that put friggin onions on the dang pizza. 11 year old kids DO NOT WANT onions. We were on a road trip and 20 miles down the road before we opened the box. I burped onion burps for the rest of the night. Do you know what that can do to a kid? :dizzy:

But they did have a Batlezone. Actually many Pizza Huts in Texas had Batlezones.  :D

I'm sure the onion smelling burps that filled the car taught your parents a valuable lesson about oreing onions on their pizza.....

A little bit off topic:
Should we hold a poll to decide if tokens should come in gold or silver or both?

Or because last years tokens sold out so quick can we assume both gold and silver will be available?

As long as they are the same price I vote gold!

I'm guessing they'll come in brass and nickel though  ;)

I will do the same as last year... I will be taking preorders and asking 'if we don't produce your metal choice, would you take the other?"  Once the bulk of the orders are in I will know if we have enough to order both.

If we only order brass, for example, I will refund the money of those who ordered nickel and said they wouldn't want anything if we don't make nickel.

Last year we had enough demand for both.

Santoro, Since hearing about these awesome BYOAC tokens, I'm holding off on buying generic tokens, but I can't seem to find info on when pre-orders will be taken, and when the tokens will actually be purchased. Can you inform? Thanks.

I'm not accusing you of censorship, saint.  I haven't seen you delete any posts in here (that I'm aware of).  I'm just calling a spade a spade.  As you said, you posted in this thread for one reason, to give your opinion.  But you obviously were only interested in sharing your opinion about one particular slogan.   Not one that you liked, not one that you hoped would win, not one that you voted for, but one you hope doesn't win.

I won't debate what your intentions were there, but you follow it up by suggesting that Santoro should determine the final token NOT based on which one might actually win the vote, but by it's marketability.

Just because this is Saint's site doesn't mean that he has no right to express his opinion just like anyone else. Hell, throwing opinions around willy-nilly is what made this place great. You're certainly not showing any reservations about sharing your opinion on this subject. I voted for "all your game" but you talked me out of it. I'm off to change my vote.

Oh well, I was psyched it was second. Hopefully we get some swing votes in the second round, since it might make the cut...

It seems that there are really 3 locations to decide...where "the game is never over" (cocktail side), "build. restore. play." (BYOAC top) and "all your game..." (BYOAC bottom).

I really think we might as well vote on three slogans.  The reason is IF the "build restore play" slogan is selected it might stay where it is on top of the BYOAC side?  I really like the look of the BYAOC side the way it is.  I would go prefer seeing only one change if "build. restore. play." is a winner and can stay where it is.  Thoughts?

if we get it down to a top 5-7 and then have separate votes for A (cocktail side), B (BYOAC bottom), C (BYOAC top)?

I agree with the "less is more" mentality.  I think we already have the slogan in place as it was submitted by JoyMonkey on his design - Build, Restore, Play.  This is also the 1st place slogan in the vote.

Santoro says he wants "No Cash Value" on their so put it at the bottom of that JoyMonkey's design.

On the front, I think there is not enough room for any of the slogans other than "Cocktails Anyone?"   HOWEVER, I feel that slogan is too cutesey and would have to be explained to guests as much as "All Your Game..."  It is not a retro slogan, but is based on the users' knowledge of arcade machines.

My suggestion would be to just use the "www.arcadecontrols.com" tagline centered around the bottom of the token (front side) as depicted below.  How many people here would refuse to buy tokens with that design?

Great idea to simplify, but the cocktail cabinet would then overlap the text and that opens this whole thing up for a lot of re-designing to make it fit.

I wouldn't want to change a token that much when people have already voted on the layout.  I would rather keep text around the same length, placement, and appearence so it is as similar to what was voted upon as possible.  That's why I suggested adding a 3rd location so that "Build. Restore. Play." might stay where it is when people voted for it.  The BYOAC invader is a rockin' design!

I think that disussing the slogans is great since more people take a creative roll in this years tokens.  It's been a lot of fun sharing ideas.  Let's not get to complicated and vote on slogans that fit the space in the designs.

Thanks for pointing that out.  The blue bar around the bottom kept me from seeing that (or I was just too blind to see it).

I still think the "Cocktails Anyone?" slogan is too cutesey and not specific to the retro-arcade theme.  BTW, I voted for:

Build Restore Play
The Arcade Will Never Die

ARCADE5280 is right the picture would overlap the text and the design doesn't need to be changed now....

you right first having to explain how you fit 3000 games in a machine has allready got their brain smoking... cramming more knowledge such as why the token says "cocktails anyone" or "all your games..." would possibly set them into overload meltdown.

That's why I voted for both of those!  I think they are great conversation starters for company.  "Cocktails anyone?" is just fun.  "All you games..." is one of those things that a lot more people have come across on the net but don't know the origin.  My brother in law knew what it was and never played video games.  It is just a 80's game thing gone modern day pop culture--the past becomes the present--IMO.

FYI the slogan will replace the "All your games are belong to us" that was used as a generic template during the creation of the designs....

Only if 'all your games are belong to us' is voted down.

I'll make sure it is.  If I have to stuff the ballot box with thousands of fake accounts, or pay people off with arcadey goodness, it will never see the light of day.

That's why I said that. No problem, though, I accept the decision, and the tokens are still cool. I'm still going to buy some. Next year shall be mine!

Or, I may flood the market with cheap tokens, as part of my plan for world domination!

 :)

I know - my response was also in jest. Now let's get those tokens done.

When can I place my order?

Did you ship them out yet?

 ;D

Tell you what:

A Special BYOAC Offer: email or PM me your mailing address -- I'll mail any BYOAC member who asks four RetroBlast/GameRoom tokens.

They're promotional, so I won't be selling them outright, but I'm more than happy to share a few with friends.  :)

SWEET!

That's really a nice gesture Kev.  You've got a PM!

EDIT:  I emailed you too once I actually "read" your post....   Just disregard one or the other.

PM's work just as well - just get me your address, one way or another, and I'll mail you a set of tokens.
