« on: June 09, 2006, 11:34:15 pm »
Hello to all .

This is the list that I have so far...

Ultimarc I-Pac2 board
USB cord
2 Joysticks NOT sure which ones yet  ???

Ultimarc's new (switchable from the top of your panel) 4/8 way Mag Stick Plus joysticks

player 1/2 start buttons
16 Happ concave buttons
Button Nut Wrench
3" PS/2 trackball with 3 additional Happ buttons
3" trackball mounting plate (necessary when installing in a wooden control panel???)

Like I said on my other post my build is from Oscar Controls (Gotham) plans, and yes I did take pic's and will post them this weekend.
I have also picked up this empty cab from EBay for $65.00 Take a look I think it was a good buy but nothing beats building your own. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13718&item=6281025295

One last thing I need help on is with my fiance , she is  :badmood: that she doesn't have the extra space in the garage and don't understand why I am looking at building a few other projects...LOL
What can I say to her???

I'll lend what help I can.

For wiring, depending on the size and layout of your panel you may need more or less wire, just go to Radioshack or something similar and grab some stranded wire, extra connectors, zipties if needed.

You'll need the mounting plate for the trackball, for a wooden pannel. What you'll need to do is route out an area for the plate. If you want it to be flush with the surface of the panel you'll need to route out the sides a bit to get the trackball to fit flush. Do a search for trackball routing diagrams, they'll help.

Never used the magsticks but I have used the regular T-sticks. The 4 to 8 way switchability is great, it's incredibly useful for some games. I'm sure the magsticks will work great.

Good luck.
I had to beat them to death with their own shoes...

Good find on the cab. That's not to bad, and is pretty mame-able. I would not cut into that control panel. You might find someone that wants it. Therefore, construction of a new CP will be needed. :)

As for parts, you look decent. But not knowing what your aiming for, it's hard to advise beyond that. Yes, you should get mounting plate as it just provides a more resilient surface. I would route around the top plate so you get a flush mount however. As for joysticks, it all depends on your needs. Those sticks give the authentic feel for both 4 and 8 way with having the versatility to swap between the two seamlessly. Again, it all depends on your design needs. You might like the Happ Perfect, you may want the cherry switch feel of a super, or other desires.

Another interesting option is the Ultrastik from Ultimarc. See this thread for the discussion.

EDIT: Also, why are you buying the coin door. Did it not come with the auctioned cab? From the pictures, it looks to be in good shape.

I do understand about the routing around the top plate so I get a flush mount .
For the joysticks I do not wont a noisy stick I like the idea that I will be able to switch from 4 to 8 way without having to open the CP.
I will also check out the ultastik...
The coin door it will be for the cab I am building.
when I get enough post in I will ask in the Buy/Sell/Trade if anyone wants the CP
And does RandyT have a website for his new Trackball???
Thanks again , :notworthy:
