Do the guncons work on cga arcade monitors?

I just bought a ps2 and want some light guns.

Next question is does the playstation to dreamcast adaptors work on lightguns?

Yes to first question, no to second question.

Okay just got a set of guns today.  My playstation is connected to a Ultimarc console adaptor.  Will the games work with out the gamecon adaptor?

I just picked up the PS2 Time Crisis 3 bundle at lunch at tried it out.  I CANNOT CALIBRATE the guns.  They work with my TV as I can go into the game and shoot people, but the aim point isn't anywhere close to correct.

In the calibration screen, I point the gun at the crosshair and fire.  The screen blanks, but nothing else happens.  I can do this a hundred times and nothing happens.  Sometimes, for no apparent reason, an X will come up and it asks me if it is calibrated.  If not, I'm supposed to aim at the crosshair and shoot again which I do, but nothing changes.  Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Oh, it also says select screen type, but there isn't anything to choose.  I DID READ the manual and it said to hold the C button and pull the trigger to change to a progressive scan TV, but that didn't make any noticeable change either.

By the way, I'm using a Panasonic 36" tube television if that helps.

Try cranking the contrast and brightness to maximum.

I tried adjusting the brightness/contrast on my 36" TV, but nothing made it work.  I tried the guns/ps2 on a 13"  monitor and they worked fine.  I guess my 36" TV just doesn't output right for the guns.  That's a real shame because my it's the only TV I have that is really big enough for 2 players to play simultaneously and still see what's on screen.

Even if you were playing on a 36" TV you would still have trouble seeing what is going on.  The PS2 still outputs at the same resolution even if you are useing a big screen TV so it will be bigger but it will be blurry and hard to see.  Belive me I've tried.  If you want to play Time Crisis 3 multiplayer the thing to do is to pick up a second copy of the game and play useing the link player option to conect 2 PS2's together so you can play on two TV's just like in the arcade.  It requires that you have some of the older version PS2's that still have the I-link port on them though.

dont you need an adapter for the video connector depending on the tv connection your using.

like for the advanced av.

What is the I-link port  and do the slim ones have it.

The I-Link port is a Firewire port that was used to Lan multiple PS2's together before the PS2 network adapter came out.  I believe they removed the port on the v9 and newer PS2's so definitely if you have a slim line which are the v12 PS2s then you don't have an I-Link port.  Grand Turismo 3, Time Splitters 2, ATV Off Road Fury 2, Unreal Tournament, Armored Core 2, Armored Core 3, Silent Scope 2, Lethal Skies II, Midnight Club II, Time Crisis 2 and Time Crisis 3 are the only games that support it.

Does the PS2 have a Silent Scope Rifle?

Do wireless guns work good on a CGA Arcade Monitor?
