everything is pretty basic. Computer, monitor, and these lights will all plug into a power strip. ...which then plugs into the wall.
these lights were part of the original cabinet and were connect to a power supply box with everything else.
I hooked it up and it seems to work with just the 2 wires. My main question was is it safe to ignore the ground wire that was hooked up originally. All it is ..is a wire soldered to the metal part of one light....chained to the other...and was then attached to the the connector to the power supply. now the ground wire is just kind of hanging...not attached to anything.
all I need now is for someone to tell me that it's safe.

i connected them with metal connectors from radio shack and covered them with black electrical tape.
