Anyone know which one will better suit me?

Thanks

It's all personal preference.

Do you prefer American control panels (tear-drop joysticks with longer throw and concave buttons), or
Japanese-style control panels (ball-tops with shorter throw and convex buttons).

I've heard that if you can get over differences, the Japanese setups can be better for fighters, but I could never get over that hump.

If you're not that familiar with Japanese sticks, try a Tekken 5 machine or anything Sega has released in the last 5 years. I guess it also depends on how much you like bright green and pink.
Brevity is not my strong suit.

Since we know absolutely nothing about you or your needs I'll just take a wild guess and say SF 3 is better for you.  Why?  because the coin flip came up heads.

Tekken only has 4 buttons... that wouldn't be good for street fighter.  So the Street Fighter Stick hands down.

I voted for the t5 stick.

Tekken only has 4 buttons... that wouldn't be good for street fighter.  So the Street Fighter Stick hands down.

The t5 stick has 8 buttons, so that's not the issue here.

What it really comes down to, as Crowquill stated, is preference.  I say, make sure you get a japanese T5 stick as it will have all sanwa parts from the getgo (if I remember correctly) and get an octagonal restrictor for it so it doesn't feel so square.

I"m looking for a fighting stick that will be the best for pulling off fast combos.
The thing is, I'm not familiar with either sticks. American nor Japanese... So, I can go for either stick and it will be a new experience for me.

What's an octagonal restrictor and how much would it cost me?

Should I just buy the Hori Real Arcade Pro 2? I can get it for $106 shipped...

Thanks

This is an octagonal restrictor:

It clips onto the bottom of the sanwa stick and restricts the joystick's movements into an octagonal pattern instead of a quare one.  It makes doing circular motions easier.  You can get them from Per at www.akihabarashop.com or Rod at http://www.himuragames.com for roughly five dollars.  Of course, shipping and handling will make it more expensive.

The hrap2 is nice.  I just checked, and sadly, only the special edition hraps have sanwa/seimitsu buttons.  But hori's buttons aren't bad.  At least with the hrap2 if you need to change them it's just a matter of ordering some sanwa/seimitsu buttons and swapping the quick disconnects to the new buttons.  The stick IS sanwa, so no problems there.

I ordered a HRAP 2 =D

I'll probably purchase a octagonal plate thing and replace the square one.

I can't wait! Street fighter 3 will be so much more fun. I'm going to destroy this d-pad...

Thanks for your help
