Quick question, problem with MAME saving my settings.
« on: May 26, 2006, 12:57:59 am »
It's late and I need to get to bed, tomorrow I am taking my MAME machine into school for a presentation and ran into a block.

I reassigned some keypresses on my Ipac, and now when I launch a game in mame, press tab, and reconfigure player one, it resets to defaults every time I close MAME and open another game. I know this has been discussed before but I can't find it, any help is appreciated.
I had to beat them to death with their own shoes...

Have you tried wiping all your cfgs? (but I'd back them up first so you don't have to set all those again)

Did you make sure that your FE ini/config file is still looking for your IPAC file(s) correctly and loading them fine each time? I had a little bit of weirdness with that when I re-mapped my IPAC keys a while ago.

Good luck! Hopefully you don't get an "F" . ;)

Oh, and if you're only going to be showing off a few games, either just don't demo games that you need to change the controls on, or else you can try temporarily editing your default.ini file for MAME to match the controls you need for the game(s) you are going to be demo'ing.
yeah, that's right.
