SOLD! Oscar Push Pull Spinner, never used!
« on: May 25, 2006, 04:00:28 pm »
I have for sale a new Oscar push/pull spinner that was never used on a cab.  I did hook it up to test it when I first got it to make sure it worked, which of course it did!  Comes with installation instructions and drilling template.  $60 shipped.   Paypal preferred.

Hey ItzMR2u, mind explaining the halloween pics in your photos?  That is some cool looking work.  Where did you get the moving eyes and mouth?  How did it all turn out?
Next I'll be on fries, and that's when the big money starts rolling in.

I just had to check out the pics after reading this ... looks like someone spends a lot of time on Halloween-l as well as BYOAC (I stopped hanging out on Halloween-l long ago as I got depressed about not having time to build much cool stuff .. then I found this place ... still don't have the time, but I do get to play my games everyday).

Nice work!

Cheers.

I've had a few requests for the spinner so I'm going down the list in the order recieved offering it to that particular person and if they decide not to purchase it I'll offer it to the next in line.  Thanks for the intrest.  I'm also going to be selling 2 Happs optical rotary joysticks so if anyone is intrested in those let me know.

As for the Halloween stuff, yes I'm very big into prop building and you can see my website to learn a lot more about how I built my props on it here:
http://www.itsmr2u.com/halloween/skulldugry/index.htm

The photos on flickr are just a small sample of my yard haunt.

I haven't upgraded the site for 2005 yet as I didn't get many picutues, it was all about the video last year!  I'm working on a bunch of pneumatic stuff for this year so that ought to be intresting.

Cool!  That's good stuff.  How did you finish the bottomless tomb?
Next I'll be on fries, and that's when the big money starts rolling in.

Wow I didn't even realize I hadn't finished that section of my site!  ???
Now when you say finish what do you mean?  How it looks or how it works? As for looks, it's looks just like a tomb/crypt grey stone much like any of my tombstones.  If you're asking about how it works, it's got a mirror on the bottom and a 2 way mirror, or in my case mirrored tint on plexiglass on top which is what you look through.  With the 2 "mirrors" facing each other and a single light source you get the endless hallway effect or in this case the bottomless pit!  Here is a much better example of what I did:
http://www.halloweenpropmaster.com/Wormyt/Bottomless_Pit/pit1.html

BTW Spinner has been sold!  Thanks

I know how they work, I just wanted to see some pictures of the final product.  Do people walk on your lawn and look in?
Anyway, like I say, that is good stuff.  Very cool.  Got me looking all over today for cool Halloween stuff to make.  Just need to find some of the singing Christmas trees....
Next I'll be on fries, and that's when the big money starts rolling in.

I didn't see any on ebay sold or not so I'm not sure what you're looking at.  If someone paid $300 then they're really not to hip to arcarde parts as yes this is a nice spinner but you could almost get a whole slikstick control panel for that amount...almost! ;D

On the bottomless pit, I don't have any pictures and it's packed away right now, but I'll get some this Halloween and update the website and remind anyone in here who may be interested.  I did have it in the yard and had a little step for the short people to look into it.  Mine also has a CD player in it with my 8 year saying help me a few times over then it repeats for a nice effect.  The Talking Douglas Firs with the aux out which is what you need to input your own vocal track are indeed much harder to come by then they were a few years ago.  Here's what a lot of haunters have been going with lately: http://www.cowlacious.com/ScaryTerry.htm  It's a audio board that drives a hobby servo and that's what we use to move the mouth of the props we put them in.  I use it in my skull in the archway and I pump the Haunted Mansion vocals to it.  Granted the trees are a bit more realist due to the eyes and all, but selling on ebay nowadays for $50-100 makes them a bit out of reach for a lot of people.  I'm just glad I got the extra 4 I have back when they were going for $25+!   Some of the people in my haunt club did even better as they purchased them when they were cleared out back before the Halloween crowd really became aware of them and only paid $5!

Thanks for the info.  I bookmarked your page so I'm sure I'll be lurking around October.  I already tried to score a TDF on ebay and got blown out of the water.  Won't be buying any of those I guess.  Ouch.

EDIT:  Got one.  I just hope I don't get screwed by the 2 feedback seller and that it has the AUX input on there.

I don't think that's one with an aux jack in it.  Those were typically powered via wall outlet not batteries.  If it ends up not having the aux jack all is not lost, there was a hack done to these here:
  http://www.frightfx.com/projects/hacking_douglas/index.htm

I've never done this so don't know how well it works.  You could also add one of these motor mouth devices from hauntmaster which I have used on other pre-programmed talking props to make them say what I want and do recommend them highly!
http://www.hauntmasterproducts.com/16.html
This added cost is about what you'd pay for a TDF with aux out jack anyway so your not really spending anymore then you would have if you had to buy that model on the bay!

No aux jack.  I was too stupid to ask in advance.  Thanks for the link, I couldn't find a hack for that to save my life a couple days ago.  Was planning on actually using it as a Xmas decoration.  Whew, saved again by BYOAC.
