Coin door parts
« on: May 23, 2006, 05:45:18 pm »
I'm restoring my coin door from my Red Alert cab and am having some troubles locating a new coin return flap and was hoping someone could help find one for me.

Here is the door (please note the sweet new paint job):

Here is the part I need:

It would appear you have a Coin Controls door (which is metric). Good luck trying to find parts.

If you have one part and need another one (which it looks like that is the case) you may be able to find a machine shop in your area that will make one for you at a reasonable price.  Look up things like welding services in your yellow pages.

Of course, it may be cheaper to just buy a new coin door, especially if finding parts otherwise is as hard as Ken seems to be implying.

Here you go, this place has what you need, the don't have the picture for the "flaps" but they are the ones you are looking for. I had to order the same for mine.

Try this link

If Ken is right, these may be the flaps you're looking for.

I appreciate your post.  I really do.  But could you please elaberate?  I don't think that 2 people would steer me both towards the wrong part.

Oh man, sorry dude. The post before mine reminded me of star wars. I was changing up a quote. These aren't the droids your looking for... you know. It was quite obvious....only to me I guess. I am an idiot. Sorry to confuse you. They are probably right.

Does anyone happen to have one of these laying around as I don't really feel like paying $7 to ship a $2 item.

Two things ....

1) You have to find other things to buy (in addition to the thing that you "need") to justify the shipping charge!!! Sadly, it looks like Centsible has cut back on stock since the last time I looked at their site, so you may have to work at it.

2) As Ken pointed out (listen to Ken ... Ken is good, Ken is wise), these aren't common items and I was somewhat surprised to see that Centsible stocked them at all.

In any event, good luck ... your worst case scenario is $9 for an item that I didn't think you would be able to find easily.

Cheers.

EDIT: BTW -- nice paint job ... I really like the look of CC doors (only have one machine with such a door, however).
