Seeburg Tormat Questio
« on: May 18, 2006, 08:50:26 pm »
I have an "Entertainer" juke that won't pickup a record.  I listed it on ebay 3 times, and the first 2 some zero feedback jerk bought it and never contacted me.

The last time, I did paypal immediate payment required and that wen't nowhere.

Anyway, some good fellow emailed me during the last auction to tell me that there might be 2 wires disconnected on my tormat unit that is causing my problem.

I took two screws off the front of the tormat, cut the warranty tape  ;D, and the cover won't come off.

Are there any other places to check?  Looking into my crystal ball, searching for all knowing Ken.

Thanks  Jacktucky

Hi
I had this problem on a Seeburg jukebox,it is a very common fault,an ex Seeburg engineer told me the fix.

If you look at the tormat unit under the record rack you will see a thick phono type cable
follow this cable to where it meets the mechanism control panel
you will find it conects via an RCA/phono plug
What happens is you get slight corrosion on this plug and socket (especially if the jukebox has been kept in a damp environment)
All you need to do is clean the plug up and perhaps squeeze it a bit to make sure of good contact.

If this doesn't fix it there is a good fault finding link below

That did it.  That cable is all messed up.  If I fool around, I can get it to pickup the right record, move it again, it picks up every record.

cool, looks like if I just fix that cable, I'll be OK.

THANKS

Tony Miller's SEEBURG website has excellent troubleshooting information on this system since he invented it!
