I know there are screen savers that will show random games for a short amount of time and then pick another random game. I was wondering if anyone has done the same for background music. Is there a program that will randomly play sound clips from the set of loaded games during the frontend menus?

Thanks

Curt

I made some random arcade sounds, but they are just in mp3 format (ie. you can't tell it which games to 'load' so they aren't really dynamic).  Not sure if that's what you want, but it works fine as a background sound in good front ends. Check my sig for the URL.

I use Hofle's "arcade ambience" MP3s. Much better as it sounds like a full arcade with all the games running...

Ok, so I have been wondering this for a little while. I plan on using cheapo receiver/speakers surround sound system for the audio in my cab. I will probably only be using 2 or 3 of the 5 speakers in my cab. Would there be any way to run the Arcade Ambiance mp3's through the mame pc and come out of the other 2 or 3 speakers elsewhere in the room?

Wow, that was a pretty major hijacking of a thread. But, yes, if your reciever has zoning.
