Advice needed - how to refer to posts?

For the life of me I can't figure out how to refer in my post to an entirely different post to make it easier for others to see referring info without looking for the topic I mention.  I thought I could just look up the thread and paste it into body of my text but I can't find the URL that specifically links to what I refer to.

I'm missing something somewhere but just can't find it.

Please help?

Look directly above the post, you'll see the post title.  Each post has it's own reference.  Right click and 'copy URL' and use that address to reference the post.

Yes.  It is of the utmost importance that you learn this code so you don't post mile long links that screw with the page layout.
