WTB: Racing Wheel sold only in UK
« on: May 10, 2006, 03:13:31 pm »
I am hoping someone can help me out. I would like to purchase the following Steering wheel but it appears to be only sold in the UK. So if someone is willing for a small fee to buy this and ship it to me I would be very appreciative.

http://www.gameseek.co.uk/pd/Multirbbg5f9jn45/Joytech-Nitro-TriForce-3-in-1-Wheel

I would pay in advance of course.

Also, I am assuming Steering wheels would work on PAL and NTCS versions of consoles the same. Is that correct?

I really like this wheel because it supports PC, PS2 and XBOX and I don't think such an item exists in the US.

Thanks

I just happened to be googling for PS2 wheels, as I'm thinking of building a "Rase Base" cockpit.  I found this one that works on PlayStation2, Xbox, GameCube, PSone and Playstation consoles:
http://www.madcatz.com/Default.asp?Page=178&CategoryImg=Universal_Wheels

It's on Amazon.com for sale here = sorry for the long link:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00008KTSP/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_k2a_2_img/002-1575545-1484812?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=468642

If the links don't work, just google for madcatz universal wheels.

Hope it helps!

That one is not for the PC, only consoles. I actually got one off ebay fro $20. I think it would work on a PC with an adaptor but no force feedback.

Thanks though

Well I email Joytech and they said they don't sell that wheel in North America. I am not sure why, I guess no demand. Anyway, can anyone in the UK help me out? I will be willing to make it worth your while. Cash or something else. Maybe there is something in the US that you would like me to ship?

If not I guess I will have to wait and see if anyone release something like this here.

If you want to buy this wheel simply because it is PS2, PC and Xbox compatible then there are cheaper alternatives available. For example:

Alternatively, you could simply buy a PSone compatible wheel and buy converters.

Xbox controllers (including steering wheels AFAIK) are based on slightly modified USB technology and can be make to work on PCs by hacking the cable and downloading a free driver from the internet.

That wheel does not support the PC. As far as I can tell that is the same as the madcatz that I already have.

I am thinking that I can use an adaptor to get PC support but it wouldn't support force feedback via the adaptor. At least I don't think it would.
