Monitor mounting brackets?/1UP's adjustable brackets?
« on: May 07, 2006, 02:00:13 pm »
I want to install a 21" computer monitor into a cocktail cab.   As most of you know, the space inside a cocktail is tight.   I have a couple 19" arcade monitors which have mounting brackets, but they are about 3/4" too short for the 21" PC monitor, so the 'ears' don't line up.

A while back, 1UP announced that he was going to sell adjustable mounting brackets which would work for monitors of various sizes.   Accdng to his webpage, they're not available.

I'm wondering if anybody knows of any suitable replacement/solution.  Because the mounting holes on the monitor are on the corners which are not located directly over any solid wood, I've been thinking I'd use pieces of wood diagonally across the corners.  But even that kind of setup seems a little dicey.

I've also thought about getting a series of L-brackets and trying to work out a linkage system to angle out over some sold wood on the cocktail's top, but since I'm dealing with a finite/specific amount of clearance and mounting space, I'm not sure how well that would work either.

Anyway, just looking for other input.
Thanks
