Electric Ice pusbuttons question..
« on: May 07, 2006, 09:44:25 am »
I'm pretty new to this and had some questions bout running pushbuttons with LED's.

I'm probably gon go with a set of electric ice pushbuttons but the thing is i aint got a clue on how to run em, been lookin around and cant find anything clear enough to freakin understand, and what i wanted to know is to run these do you require any other bits and pieces to go along wit them? Like this for example http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=73&products_id=240.

And yeah this might seem like a stupid question and im sure it is but what would you's reccomend to power the LED's?

This is where some knowledge will be useful. If you do not know what you are doing you could blow up your computer and I am just speaking for myself, but that would be a bad thing. A lot of us you's the voltage from a lead in the computer. LEDWiz will run them and it takes the voltage from the USB line. You could get a small power supply and run em with that. Or most simply use a 9 volt battery with 470ohm resistors. The resistance is dependant on the voltage and the LEDs them selves. Do a search on that topic. It has been discussed a number of times.
