DVD playback on Arcade monitor ?
« on: April 30, 2006, 03:19:14 pm »
Not that it will be my main source for enjoying DVD's but every now and then it would be nice to be able to play (music) DVD's on my Mame Cab.

I've tried PowerDVD, but this wants to select a higher resolution then the monitor can handle. I'm using a real arcade (Hantarex) monitor with an ArcadeVGA card, so resolution is limited to 640x488 max.
PowerDVD doesn't show the correct aspect ratio on the monitor when the recorded material is widescreen (16:9). It's fine running it in 640x488 when it's 4:3 material though. Tried all settings, but can't get the "letter-box" that I need.

Anyone a suggestion ?

I might be talking crap, but make sure hardware acceleration is disabled for the AVGA...I seem to recall something like that affecting videos.

You might also try searching here, I'm sure this has come up before.
