Anybody MAME'd a Vs. cocktail?
« on: March 01, 2003, 12:37:55 am »
I've looked at a lot of the examples (I'd planned to have my machine done in time to be the 500th on the examples page, and now it looks like i'll miss 600 too... maybe 750), but I couldn't find a Nintendo Vs. Cocktail (little red pizza hut) cab.

I've been thinking that a home made cab based on that design (2 back to back monitors with the same video source) might solve the eternal problem of gigantic 4 player control panels...

Instead have players 1 and 3 on one side, and the 2 and 4 on the other.  You could do Karate Champ, with the 4 sticks, you could put a ball on one side and a spinner on the other, there'd be plenty of room for 7 buttons next to P1 and P2 joys and 4 next to 3 and 4.

It'd be ugly as sin, but it'd be a handy little sit down cab for the front room...

Anyway, anybody done this or something like it?

I haven't seen anything like that but it definately sounds cool.. I heard a guy named shadowfire talking about how he did that with 2 seperate upright cabs. http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=4105;start=40  I also think it would be cool if somebody did that to one of those dual monitor VS. uprights.  I dont know how easy those are to come by though...

Any body got a link to a pic of this?
My statements are my own opinions. They have the value that the reader gives them. My opinion of my opinion varies between foolish and brilliant and these opinions often change with new information.
