Dumb Trackball Question
« on: April 26, 2006, 12:21:51 pm »
Hi all, I went ahead and bought a trackball from groovygamegear.  I got my package yesterday and for testing hooked my trackball into a usb slot and fiddled with some mame settings.  I have to say, playing missle command and golden tee on a trackball makes a SLIGHT difference  ;D  But then it was time to put the toy aside and do some studying but it occured to me....I have no idea how I'll mount this to a CP.  Is there a part that I'm missing?  I have the trackball in the case thingy and a seperate small thin piece of plasic in the same shape as the case.  What do I need to get to mount this thing and where?  Thanks!  I know this is dumb!

There is a mounting plate that sits on top of the CP. It has screw sockets that hang down and go into the TB. then there are screws that go through the bottom of the TB and screw into the socket. Many folks cover the plate with their graphic overlay so the plate can not be seen.

Excellent, thank you for the quick reply.  How do I determine which mounting plate will fit my TB?

If you know your TB size, just tell your supplier and they can get you one. If youo are putting it under the CP overlay just get the flat one not the hammered metal version.
