random exiting and stuck keys
« on: April 24, 2006, 08:15:46 pm »
I am running MameWah on a windows machine using an iPac control panel. During games with a lot of rapid button presses (shooters, fighters, ect.) Mame exits the game. Also, during fighting games with two players, the characters seem to "stick" at random times, affecting both players (ie, bother players move to the left even though the joysticks are not being pressed.) The Sticky Keys feature is turned off, none of the buttons are mapped to Alt, Control, or space bar, and I've checked to see what UI Cancel and the like are mapped to. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I am using MAME32 and win xp with an ipac. I get the the same random exiting problems a lot also. I've found that restarting the computer seems to help in making it stop sometimes. I've done everything I can think of to fix it, but nothing has worked.

Pretty much given up at this point...

I am using WinXP, but not MAME 32. I have tried it on Mame 32 and I get the same problems.

Sounds like some sort of buffer overload - usb or ps/2 connection to your pc?

It may be a buffer overload, is there any way to fix this? or do I have to switch to USB?

I thought USB's could only have buffer overload problems?

really? I thought ps/2 had something similar. Does anyone else have this problem?
