P360 buttons?
« on: April 18, 2006, 11:53:12 am »
eBay Link

Anyone ever heard of them?  "Spill resistant"..  Does that just mean everything is enclosed?  Very odd..

I don't want them, just curious  :)

Thanx.

P360 (or their joysticks) used to be a independent brand/product, and later got bought by Happ. Since these buttons require a power supply, my bet is that they use the same technology as used in their joystick, meaning optical. So there's no real electrical contacts in them, with all the advantages that come with them.

Interesting find ! But I don't really like the shape of the buttons. But these should, in theory be the fastest and most lasting buttons (and resisitant less) there are.

They really suck if they're used on route...people mash them like regular buttons, and the optical thing pops off...

I've got 8 of them in my Die Hard (awaiting conversion to a JAMMA gun cabinet) ... they're not really that special and are actually "clickier" than leafs.

Cheers.

Optical tech, yep.  I have three here I've never hooked up.  There's no microswitch on the bottom, just some wire terminals like you'd see on a P360 stick.  They're labeled G, C, and +5, so you can't hardly screw up.

They don't have any bezel around the button head; the whole top is press-able, and appears to be the same diameter as a Happ button including bezel.

Seeing the pictures of them next to other buttons, they do look..  erm.. ugly.  :)

Ah, well..  At least now I know.  :D

Thanx!

Yeah, they're weird.  I really only picked them up out of curiosity- darned if I know what I'll ever do with 'em.
