beating a dead horse: Happ lightguns

Well, it's been nearly 2 years since I abandoned my MAME cab idea, and this board.  I've been itching to finally build it, but there's one little area I'm having trouble finding info on.  I remember about the time I left, there was some discussion going on about an interface card that would allow us to use a Happ lightgun on a PC.  I've been searching but all I can find are references to other lightguns.  Did anything ever come of that interface or was it just vaporware?

There isn't any (and probably wont be any).   Some of the consumer grade guns are getting better...  This has made the people looking shy away assuming they couldn't make money on a board

There IS a board that connects to a PC... but no driver support.

Search for "ror3", that's the name of the interface board.

AFAIK, Happ guns are basically just lightgun optics in a can. If thats true, then it should be possible to hack-up a guncon2 board so you can just plug any happ gun into it and have it work... Or someone could crate a generic guncon2 board that is designed to be plugged into happ guns.

Theres a good chance I don't know what I'm talking about though.
