I find the sound of my Ultimates to be a little cheap and un-authentic.  I guess the only alternative is a leaf-spring based stick?  I really like to play fighters.  Any suggestions?

I've got the oldskool Wico balltops with the perfect 360 attachments.  I think they're the bees knees.   :notworthy:

I don't play fighters, so I'm not sure if they're really the best for that, but I love them for everything else.

I have a couple of Wico balltops. They need a little cleaning...and I'm not sure if they are in working condition (would only need new leafs if not). I was told they are in working order when I procured them. I would be willing to part with them if you are interested. I was going to put them in my x-arcade but decided not to at this point. Just make an offer if you are interested.

Wico balltops are good (if the grommets aren't cracked) but getting the perfect 360 attachments to replace the leafs is what makes them really sweet.    It's all the goodness of the Wico leafs, but without the impreciseness of bendable pieces of metal.

For what it's worth, I really like the 360's that I put in to my new CP. My previous experience is with T-Stik Plus and Happs top-fire 8-way.

I'm using P360's with Wico balltop handles and they are as close to perfection as I've found.

Do those Sanwas use typical microswitches too? I thought those were -the- sticks for fighter fans.

I use p360s for my SF fix, but I'm no expert with fighters.

Competitions are standard for most of the US fighters if I'm not mistaken...  but Sanwa / Semitsu are considered top of the line overseas.

Okay, here goes a real "noobie" question...

What's the difference between the Perfect 360's and a 49-way stick?  Besides the obvious of the 49 way only having 49 directions, would they "feel" about the same?  I was thinking of doing a 2 player CP w/ player one being a 49-way w/ Randy's controller so I can use it for 2way/4way/etc.  For player two I was thinking of another 49-way, but maybe I should do a P360?  Decisions decisions...  Your advice and experience is much appreciated!

A 49-way doesn't have 49 directions.  For a better understanding of the various joystick types, including 49-ways and P360s, you might look here:

Kremmit:  Wow, my bad!  Thanks for the link,  that makes a lot of sense once you read it.  I guess I better start reading instructions manuals now too!   :laugh2:
