amidar sound issue
« on: April 03, 2006, 07:35:48 pm »
Hi all.  Quick question that I can't seem to find addressed anywhere.

Some of the games on my cabinet (Amidar is the first one that comes to mind) play with the sound much too quiet.  I'm using mame32 version .98.  The volume is set to 0db.

If I press ~ and bring up the menu, and then up arrow, I get:

mono:AY8910 #1.2 Volume 0.16
mono:AY8910 #1.1 Volume 0.16
mono:AY8910 #1.0 Volume 0.16
mono:AY8910 #0.2 Volume 0.16
mono:AY8910 #1.1 Volume 0.16
mono:AY8910 #0.0 Volume 0.16

If I adjust these volumes up, I get an acceptable level of noise.  However, these settings don't seem to 'stick' the next time I start the game.  I can't seem to find an option for setting these via the gui or command line.  Is there a way to make this work?

Thanks much.
