LCD Topgun Camera Life.

I've seen several topics about turning off the led's for this gun, does anyone know if there is a concern with the camera in the gun?   Is it on 24/7 if you leave it plugged in and the computer turned on, or only when you pull the trigger.   Is there a worry of the ccd burning out or getting burnin.   I'm wondering if at the very least would it be a good idea to make sure the gun is stored pointed at a black background where it doesn't get a buned in image.
