Sounds similar to Cyberpunks original jukebox. Are you using an LCD monitor? I assume that you are since a CRT would be rather large for a wall mount. Have any PICs?

Yea a 12" LCD, It is very similer to Cyberpunks, but different, there are no internal speakers and it will output direct to my amp. I will have some pictures when i have done some more work.
still not sure what OS to go for? will 95 work?

Started out with W98 on mine and it had some pains as VJB was being develped on XP ( I think ). Finally got it all stable on W98 SE and will probably use that. Have tried it on XP and it works great there. Have not even thought of using 95. My guess would be stick to 98 or better.

Yeah, I had one going myself, well before Virtual Jukebox was even released... using a wallbox just like you... an old 50's style AMI box I got from ebay... my plans were to use Chris's DOS jukebox... but then I got this new job and it's been eatting a lot of my time... soon I'll finish it though...
Nice thing about the new job is we get some really awesome deals on flat panel displays...

I'm building a jukebox too. It's a big floormodel and I use Chris's DOSCab as the player. Should be finshed real soon. Only thing left to do is to put laminate or something on it to make it look a little better

I've got a question for those of you doing wallmounted jukeboxes:
If i were to obtain a working LCD screen from a laptop and a mini motherboard to drive the computer, what would I need to interface the LCD screen w/ the computer?
Are there special connectors or boards needed?
What would need to be included w/ the screen?
TIA

I looked at doing just that, I have an old 486 laptop with a good display that I wanted to use... I looked into it but its very hard.... a lot of electronics are needed and I am no good at that sort of stuff.
I got an old 12" flatscreen from ebay, Ive stripped most of the casing and the screen is about 5mm think now
the motherboard and CPU where also from ebay a real bargin 400mhz amd for

See... it is important that I post here every once in a while...
As I said I was planning on this wallbox thing for a while the laptop display in the box is the obvious way to go... this site -
http://earthlcd.com/
is a great ( though not terribly cheap ) resource for LCD parts...
these guys looked pretty good too...
http://www.microversal.co.uk/index.html
and then don't forget car LCDs... a video board with TV out would be all you need for that...
http://www.vcdhit.com/stuff_you_need/special/index.html
dunno how VJB's resoultion will hold up to that though...
- Eric
...coulda shoulda woulda been the first virtual wallbox... then work got in the way...
