Not sure how good these would really be on a cabinet, but they are cheap, have 10 keys with 3 shift states, scroll wheel, and a joypad with usb interface and some really good button mapping software for $9.99 at biglots.

The n50 SpeedPad is the first gaming device of its kind, a completely new gaming tool that transcends conventional categories such as game pads, joysticks, etc. The SpeedPad can best be described as a combination keyboard and game pad. The 10 keys on the n50 act as keys on a keyboard with the advantage of being easily accessible and intuitively configured. The n50 also has an eight-way directional pad, much like the d-pad on a standard game pad. It

I've been using the nostromo for years and it is awesome for games on the pc.  Theres a newer one with more buttons and better design than the one big lots has, but if your going to hack it then you can't beat $10 for the old one.

I have the Nostromo n52 and really like it for PC games.  It's comfortable and really nice when you get used to it.

I never thought of hacking it though.. it'd probably work out pretty well.  I've certainly never had a problem with ghosting with it, so it may be a good candidate at such a cheap price.  I might check out my local BigLots, but that place is such a dive I feel dirty every time I go in there
first off your and idiot

Man I love the internet, haha.

I was thinking of hacking one and putting a mouse on the bottom.  I thought it would make a cool uber mouse for a mouse + analog joystick combo for some games (bf2 specifically)..  Not sure if it has enought space inside.

I bought one of these from Big Lots, but that was like a year ago. They are now long since gone from the Big Lots by me so I would assume that any ones you find are just remaining inventory and not a new product for them. But it also might depend on the area and when they get their new stuff (though I've found that most of the stores carry identical items at any given time.) Good luck in finding them, though! I plan on hacking mine eventually.

I tried one of those claws when they first came out, I didn't care for it and went back to my nostromo.  Saitek recently came out with a similar thing, but its been getting pretty lousy reviews.
