OK follow me on this. I am making a three sided cocktail table. The long third side is split in half by an elevated trackball that is at the height of the glass top. So just picture a wooden box sitting on top of and in the middle of the third side of a cocktail table. It doesn't really sit on top because it actually hangs lower than the CP and splits the third panel in half.
Anyway, I am going to cut out a 5x8 hole in the face of this and put my logo in it made of clear plexy glass. I have a fire theme and I want flickering flames behind the logo.
I have come up with two options that I can think of.
Option #1:
Put two real 40watt flickering bulbs behind the graphics. (But will they get too hot?)
Option #2 (don't know if this is possible)
Put red and yellow LEDS behind a slow spinning transparent wheel with black marks on it to simulate flame flicker. Will this work or look stupid.
Can anyone think of any other options? Hasn't anyone tried this? I know I saw the spinning wheal somewhere, Mexican restaurant maybee?
