So, here's what I have...

AW MOBO and game

a 6 button 2 player Aero City style CP

this vga 27" monitor

and this wiring (neo stuff, but I will make it work) just the wiring, not the 2 slot or marquee.

Any advice on getting started....

-woodwork?

-links to diagrams?

-what fuse will I need? (the wiring is missing it)

-supporting the monitor?

-thoughts in general?

-Should I go for wood? or Plastic?

-should the monitor slant like neo cabs or be straight like the mini cute?

lots of thoughts running through my head....but would like some advice

What is it you want when the project is finished?  I'm having a hard time deciding what to tell you to do.

Like Mark says....  Be a bit more specific about what you actually want to achieve with this cab. Try and tell us what you plan to run on it. Try to tell us what hardware you want to use (PC etc) if you're not using that MVS two slot.

It's difficult to answer your questions without knowing what you want to achieve.

Most bottles and jars contain at least twenty-five percent recycled Pacman.
And research indicates that Space Invaders are strongly attracted to people who have recently eaten meat pies.

I am going to run an....

AW MOBO and game

:)

It's an Atomiswave arcade motherboard that outputs in VGA.

I am thinking a wood cab with the Aero City CP in it and the monitor. I was thinging that it would be cool to have the cab seem small with the huge monitor in it. Since I am building it myself, I can have the monitor as far to the edges of the cab.

The aero city CP looks like this CP but the sega one...just the blue and silver part with the buttons, not the whole thing.

hope that helps a bit. I really need the advice on how to secure the monitor  and anything else would be great too...

the monitor will be set up horizontal with no option for vert. I have a marquee light and will have it in use above the monitor. The cp will stick out. no coin door, just a door to reach in and switcht he game etc.. from the front.

I will add more as I get breaks at work

Oh! OK.... You're building a Candy Cab....  Yeah they're really cool looking cabinets.

Are you sure you want to run an Atomiswave?? they are a bit limited in what you can do with them. Given that that very nice VGA Monitor you have will easily accept input from a PC, wouldn't you be better off putting a PC in there to run Mame off it??

It'd give you access to a lot more games.
