Coin door
« on: March 22, 2006, 03:46:22 pm »
Can anyone point me to a good tutorial on installing a coin door?  I finishing up my first cab, so I'm a total noob and I'm not sure how to set up the coin door to accept tokens.  I did a search here, but didn't come up with much.

How do I connect it to my power supply?
How do I switch it from quarters to tokens?
I'm assuming I wire it to coin1 and coin2 on my KeyWiz.  Is that correct?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!    ;D

How do I create the harness and switch the meches?  By harness, do you mean mounting a light behind the door?

On the ipac, do you just run a wire to coin1 and coin2?

Thanks for your help.

Retroblast has a link to an article on how to modify the coin mech without having to change parts, but the link doesn't work.  Does anyone know how to do this or know where I can find the article?

Well...after hours of research on modding coin mechs for tokens...I just tried a Chuck E. Cheese token...and it doesn't even fit in the coin slot!!  :-\

Has anyone ever lengthened a coin slot with a dremel?  I saw it referenced in the thread I linked above.

Any other ideas???

This is just what i would do, you have to look at your time, their are seveal sizes of tokens you can get that you do not have mod your door & mechs are not expensive, i would just use a smaller token & change the mech it takes 30 minutes, again this is what i would do

Does anyone know what size a quarter is?  I' ve seen .880 tokens being sold and as long as they're smaller than a quarter I should be ok.  Right?
