coin door for cocktail

I am looking to get a coin door for my cocktail table and have a question of course.  I want one that is small and I am looking at this one

My question is do I need this also and if I don't get this where do the quarters go?

You can use any old container. Make one out of cardboard. It's up to you.

Empty coffee cans make a very satisfying "ClINK" when a coin is dropped into them, I suggest using one of those. Or maybe fabricate one out of aluminum sheet, rivets and L-brackets.

Slacker solution to getting that nice metallic clink sound. I use a plastic bucket and cut a sheet of aluminum to fit in the bottom of it. It just didn't sound right when the coins thud to a stop in that plastic bucket.

So I just need that and the cash box holder, nothing else?  Thats what I was looking for.

what about depth?  most cocktail tables that i know of have a depth problem with coin doors.  that's what i'd be worried about...

it looks small enough for me, plus its a 27" monitor so its bigger than most.

I wouldn't wast my time with a quad coin door. Lets face it, with a three sided cocktail table , most of your time will be spent on two player games, and even if you play some of the four player games you can find a way around a four coin slot coin door.

     For aesthetic reasons and practicality I would search eBay for a clean coin door. For me, I love knowing the fact that my coin door was used for many years as a Space Invaders coin door. Find a door with some history and renovate it. This will add to the nostalgia.

I agree which is why I bought this bally midway coindoor off ebay, which ill be doing just that too.

Good choice.

I also used a midway coin door. One big advantage to this style is that the coin mechs are mounted flat against the coin door making the whole unit less than 3 inches wide.  Space in a cocktail is always in short supply.

You would just need to put a box under it. And would be pretty cheap
