...So I want to get rid of my Defender/Mame Cab
« on: March 12, 2006, 06:27:39 pm »
Quick question for you.

I am looking to get rid of my first MAME project
because I honestly don't use the machine since
I put together my showcase cab.

I have a few people that may want it from me
and after I unload all the software in it, I'm just wondering
how much I should ask.

I would like to make a few bucks off of it, instead of just giving it
away, since I did stick some $ into it,
but the equipment is not much to speak of.

Its a defender cab with a 1GHz PC, 256 MB Ram, 64MB video card,
2 player control panel setup (6 buttons for each player)
20" PC monitor.
Smaller IPac used for the controls....
It works fine and looks good for in a home.  (The cabinet does not look
dumpy by any means.)

Would somewhere in the $100-$200 be too much to ask for the
cab and computer?

(see the pics on my webpage...)

What would the parts get on Ebay?

Monitor:  $50
Coin Door:  $35 (or more)
Ipac:  $25
Computer:  $75
Controls:  $10
Cabinet:  $50-$75

Based on what you could part it out for, I would sell it for at least $300.

..so if I decided to keep it in the family and wanted
to give the 'family discount'... I probably would not be
too far off in the '$200 or just under' range...
...so I will ask you... "Deal, or No Deal?"

Don't calculate what you could get for parting it out. You will be disappointed.

Sell it at a unit. 200$ is a very fair price in my opinion.

I think that is very fair as well.  Too bad you're not closer to Michigan because my sister is loking for a cab for her basement. :(

Where are you located exactly?  I might be interested.
