Cocktail Fan question

Hi all, another fan question.  I have searched and found some good info and sites to buy my fans from.  I have a question though.  I am building a 27

I'm also building a cocktail table based on a design similar to the Whammocade. I was planning on using the same amount of fans as the Whammocade even if it is overkill because I have a car amp and two PC power supplies. So I am going to have a little more heat to get rid of.

Regarding your fan choice, I think that the price might be a little steep. Check eBay.
I have seen similar fans for $3.99.

I know the fans might be high, but I have read that these are very good fans.  Have you seen the same ones or "similar" ones??  Anyone else??

Multiple fans can get pretty noisy. I would spend a little extra and get silent or quiet fans. I ususlly get mine from www.newegg.com.

Personally I think seven is WAY overkill. I run two of these in my cocktail and have never gotten close to having any heat issues.

I must speak up on this comment.  Are you using a 27" d9200 monitor in your cocktail?  Or for that matter any of the 27" multisynch monitors that seem to fail when you sneeze wrong?  That many fans may indeed be overkill but when dealing with this setup I think it may be better safe than sorry since there are those that say overheating for this monitor can be an issue.  I would run at least two taking air in on the bottom and two blowing out near the top plus one fan blowing on the neckboard if you are running a d9200.

It's good that you did. I meant to say that I am using a 19" WG monitor in my cocktail. As far as blowing in, personally I do not believe that is necessary, however the fan on the neck of the monitor (blowing towards exaust fans in the rear) is probably a very good idea. I would personally listen to Whammoed since he has much more experience than myself. I would, however, go with some sort of silent fans.

I highly recommend Thermaltake fans - I have some, and am very satisfied. I replaced all my fans in my pc last year, and not only does it run cooler, it is now silent.

For an extra dollar, you might want to check this one out:

How do you mount them if you want them to blow in the other direction, looks like they only mount on one side??

Happ sells some arcade fans(4.69" square x 1.5" deep) , these are die cast metal & they are a little high but i used 2 of them blowing out the top of my cab since heats rises...
below are the specs i could not imagine 8 fans that would sound like a dc3 taking off

Yeah - those will only mount in one direction. Those Vantecs would probably work better for you, and at 21db, will be nice and quiet.

Those sound good, if you have the room for them - since this is a cocktail. Awesome airflow, but I wonder what the actual db noise rating is?

yeah, I like the airflow also, but what is the noise??  32 is the highest  I wanna go.  right now I am going with the Vantecs unless someone else has something else.
