When someone here gets this up and working on their iPod, could you please give a step-by-step on how to make it work? The links seem to assume you already have a good knowlege of ipodlinux and compiling experience.
Thanks.
What ipod do you have? Some are easier than others.
The easiest thing to do is use floydzilla or viPodzilla installers. Once installed you follow the directions on the ipodmame wiki. Bsically mount your ipod, copy the ipodmame folder where needed, create the .sh file (linux version of bat files, essentially), start your ipod up into linux and start the sh.
I know people have been having issues with linux on the ipod. Many hoops to jump through to get it to work. I got it to work for a little bit on mine. I might try again now. I see floydzilla has been much improved since I last used it.
The cool thing about ipod linux is that the old firmware is there, the ipod is dual booted. You have to like hold the menu key or turn hold lock on or something to boot into the non-default firmware.
