Need help finding a coin door
« on: March 08, 2006, 03:19:25 pm »
I going to be butting in a coin door for my arcade in a bit. I would do it now but Im low on cash.  I want to get the arcade style coin door but I dont want the return button to be red because it would throw the whole cabnet off. My cabnet is black and dark blue and having a red return just would kill me.  Im going to have it lite so I can just paint it. Do you know were I could get one out how I could change the red to blue.

For a different colored coin door plastic piece.

I'm sure there's other places you can get these.

Ebay is where I got my coin door. About $20 and it had been repainted & re-locked. Pretty sweet deal.

Happ Controls is the only coin door manufacturer that makes different colored  coin entry buttons. If you bought another brand of door you'd be stuck with red buttons only.

Do what I did.  Find your local coin-op company.  Show up.  Ask if they have anything they're willing to part out or are throwing out.

I got a Happ over under for free less the coin mechs.  Only a couple chips in the paint.  Some soap and water and some touch up paint and it looks like new.

Then, just buy the plastic inserts.

The trick is GO TO the coin-op company.  A call may get you a name, but it's hard to say No to someone standing in front of you.... that's why door to door salesmen where invented.

Are you looking for a functioning coin door with mechs or one for just aesthetic purposes?  I've got an extra single coin door (without the mechs) I'd be willing to part with.  It's basically brand new...

I ordered it from Happs cause it was cheaper to order another complete door than the mechs and holders separately.

I went to an arcade shop and they guy let me pull a over under coin door out of the cab for $15. It had full mechs. All I had to put into it was locks. Try calling a local arcade repair or dealer. Also try ebay. they had a classic coindoor for $9.99 with $10 shipping. It had mechs and everything.
