Hey All,

For all of those that care I have moved Arcade Jukebox to

I am slowly working on version 9 now.

I always welcome suggestions.  My goal is to keep the program simple and effective without a bunch extra crap.

I need to say I have seen alot of the jukebox progs out there and some are quite good.  But when you write one with ads scrolling through it or try to sell it or your website has popups and ads, perhaps this is not the proper forum for you.  When I first wrote Arcade Jukebox it was because there wasn't anything out there that would turn your MAME machine into a jukebox.  I gave it away freely and never asked for money, or ran ads on my sight.  I am all for free enterprise and if it is your goal to make money from your software, then good luck to you.  But the Arcade Controls website has always been for me a place where you can get help from others, freely exchange ideas and when you are ready give back to the community.  I would have never built my first cab if it were not for the help of so many members on this sight.  OK,  I feel better now.

Hi Mark

 A couple of features that i'd would like included in V9 would be:

1.To be able to assign "CLEAR SONG" to a key

2.Some control over the settings of "Sort Song"
ie: So you could set it to just alternate between "artist and song title"

          Wont ever run anything but arcade jukebox on the Butler 2001.  That said I second the gentlemen above.  More control over the sort, including which way the songs are sorted when you fire up the software and an assignable clear song button, doesnt need a whole lot else.

I also agree with more keys being able to be mapped - otherwise a fantastic program

Best jukebox program I found to run along with mame.That said, I also would like to see more options on sorting and if possible to include cover art from my id3 tags.My only fault with version 8 was there are a couple of albums that arcade jukebox has trouble reading the id3 tags from but other programs read them fine,it will list them as unknown artist.Keep up the good work,looking fwd to the new version.

Yours is the closest to the real jukebox singles players of yesteryear and I use it all summer long whilst laying arround the pool. I have only a few suggestions that would make it a little more useable for me:

1. Don't allow back-to-back song play and limit repeat of songs.

2. I would love to, and have tried it out with a touchscreen and only a touchscreen. The only problem is you cant page thru the library and some of the other functions are prohibited or unusable because of size or hidden menu.

3. A dos program would be nice, dos running on modern cpu is lightning fast and not
bloated and is very stable.

I am trying now to setup doscab with touchscreen, but having trouble with that, I hope
you will have something that will help me out, if you need any beta testing I surely will help.

In order to get a touchscreen working with DOSCab, you need to add the following two lines to the end of your jukebox.ini file:

Hey Mark,
I've been looking for jukebox software for my project and was surprised to find that of the dozens of choices, almost none could meet my simple needs - Arcade Jukebox was one of the few that comes really close. Basically I need an app that displays on a low res arcade monitor and can handle a very large music library.

Anyway, just wondering if you plan on releasing a new version of Arcade Jukebox?

I never ran across this thread before.  Thanks for reviving it.  I'd like to add my request.

I wish there was a 'random' sort option.  I would like each new screen of songs to be a surprise collection.

I can do that in Chris's dwjukebox (aka WinCab), but not with AJ8.  Unfortunately, Chris's dwjukebox can't be run as a touchscreen jukebox in Vista.  AJ8 can.


AJ8 and dwjukebox are really the only two true 'singles' jukeboxes out there.
