Looking for tinted plexi or glass in Houston, TX
« on: March 06, 2006, 01:50:31 pm »
Looking for a place in Houston, TX that I can buy tinted plexi or glass.
All the normal spots (HD,Lowes,Ace) sell only the clear stuff but not tinted.
Thanks all...

Just go to your local glass shop. I live on the north side of town, there's a place called DeSola Glass not far from my house. They had two shades available, "Bronze" and "Gray". I forget which is darker.

If you don't know where any glass shops are in your area, let your fingers do the walking in the yellow pages.

BTW if you get tempered glass, 1/8" thickness is sufficient. Your cost will be around $40, maybe a bit less.

Also, I recommend glass over plexi.

I have changed my nickname to "Cakemeister". Please do not PM the Buddabing account because I do not check it anymore.

Please read the wiki!

Thanks, I found a place nearby. I was trying to avoid doing the yellow page random calling because you get such rude people, but I did call around yesterday and found some and of course also found those rude people as well  :P. I guess thats the Houston charm  :-\

The bronze is the lighter color.  1/8" is a good choice for a monitor.
