Im assuming this has been asked/responded to already, however, I was not able to find it using the search function of the board:

Is there a site, or collection of websites that have a good/large collection of high resolution marquees for MAME, that I can download and take to a printer? I am artisticly handicapped

In regards to the search function, is there I way i can keep 100 posts from the same thread from showing up if i search for a word in the title of threads?

- Have you tried www.klov.com I got some of my marquees from them that were pretty good quality, but not all of them are though.

- I would also search for the arcade game name in Yahoo which I wanted the marquee from and more often than not I would be taken to a site which has information on the game and also has a nice marquee. I would then "File/Save Picture As...." and save it as to my harddrive.

- You can also go to some arcade vendors, dealers and distributors websites and search for reproductions of the more popular arcade game marquees and get a good picture as well.

- Sometimes on Ebay, sellers post the marquee they are selling and it is a nice big picture as well.

Dont know if any of this helps, but it is what I did since I could not find one place which has nice marquees in one spot.

there isn't a large collection.. but oscar has the "mame logo" one...

and there are a few services that have generic MAME logo and not so generic MAME logo marquees that they'll print for you for a modest fee... (emdeekay comes to mind)

There are over 500 examples of links on this very site. Start looking. Many have marquees. This is a hobby, believe it or not sometimes that requires a little effort on your part.

Thanks for the replies guys! The problem isnt that I cant find marquees--I see them all over the place. The problem is that I am looking for a high resolution file that I can take to a print shop to print that has "MAME" or something similar written across it.

Hey, thanks for your help Brax! I really appreciate it. At first I was checking under my bed, but now I will look on the internet. I will also be sure to make a note on my notepad that this is a hobby and not my job. FYI, I have done a lot of searching, and have found probably 7 high rez "MAME" marquees. So if there is a section with 500 of them, I would appreciate it if you point it out to me, otherwise, get off your high horse.

There are so many collections of images related to arcades and so many MAME enthusiasts, I assumed (hoped?) someone might have put together a collection of high resolution MAME logos/marquees. If no one has, I will try to look into possibly setting something up.

7 is probably darn close to "all of them"

jsut no one hosts all of them at once as 7 30 meg files that are somewhat popular could get expensive to host bandwith wise...

so if you found 7, you did prety well... did you check out emdeekay's stuff?

or mameroom's (cyberpunk handle here I believe)

Most people make their own marquees.

Sorry, I thought you wanted arcade game marquees. Guess I missed you that you wanted "Mame" marquees.

Anyway, Scott has the marquee he used available at his site http://home.austin.rr.com/shumate/unicade/. Just go to the MArquee section and download the fullsize image. You can take it right to the printers.....

ahh, got it. If you click the marquee at the top of the page it pops up and you can right click, save as- that's what I was doing. I never saw the other link

Hey, I don't believe in tiptoeing around. Ask anyone.
You appear to be in the growing majority around here that doesn't want to put much effort into this. I suspect it's a product of the Mame demographic getting younger... but whatever. I just call it as I see it. All the resources are here. Just look and you'll find them.
Someone put alot of effort into this site to supply you with all the resources you would ever need. I suppose the problem is that now there's TOO much. The newer (or younger) people can't be bothered to search through them now.
I've searched through every single example site and in the process bookmarked about 40 sites... from their links I found even more.. In my opinion that's the whole point of this site. To provide all the resources you'll ever need. Not leach off the people that have already done the work.

I have some free time this weekend, I'll be over to build your cabinet for you.

Unfortuntely, its already almost done!

If you guys say the 7 or so that I have found is pretty much the majority of the ones out there, then I guess I did put enough effort into finding them as I thought. I suppose I just assumed there would be more-- (and we all know what happens when I assume..)

I hope you guys dont mistake my lack of ability to create a nice looking marquee for lack of effort/enthusiasm.

Not quite what you're looking for but this seems to be a very affordable option. This website http://www.emdkay.net/ sells the maquees for $19.95 or for $23.95 he will make you a custom one. He has several to choose from and prints them on premium glossy photo paper. Honestly, if you were to take something to Kinkos and ask it be printed on this kind of paper I doubt that it would be much if any cheaper. You can also catch his marquees on eBay usually for less.

FYI: He also does some side art.

I am in no way related to this site or person, just something I have seen in my searches.
