I realize you run your com and ground wires from your encoder to the microswith on the coin mech.
Actually Com is short for common and ground is the same thing...... What I think you mean is that you run one common wire and one wire from each switch to the coin switch inputs on the encoder.
Other than that, no you don't need any other connection. The switches are just the same as a button on your control panel just that they're pressed by the coin going by instead of by your finger pushing the button.
Like you said, unless you want to wire the coin door lights, you don't need another connection.
That is assuming that you are using a mechanical coin mech! There are also some powered coin mechs out there, which are usually 5V DC .....
