WTT: Converted Joust Cocktail for Midway cocktail {US-MI}
« on: March 01, 2006, 11:35:53 pm »
I just picked up a former Joust Cocktail in great condition.  No flaking of laminate or any other major external damage.  Wired JAMMA, no monitor, original control panels.  Looking to trade it for a Midway cocktail in similar condition

PM me and I'll send you a pic if interested.

Thanks,
Todd

Not sure Hoagie.  Saw it on ebay and bid on it.  Didn't win (no one did) but followed up with an email.  Worked out a decent deal.  This one is MUCH nicer than my other Joust Cocktail which required extensive restoration just to be a decent MAME machine.  See http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=ad8e18cac32af6a50de61b87579f7787&topic=30623.0 for more on that cab.

BTW, I'm in West Michigan but travel to Detroit area once a week so either location is good for me, trade-wise.

Thanks,
Todd

How have you had the fortune to run into two of my all-time favourite cabinet ? I've only ever seen one with my own eyes.

Folks, this is a great opportunity -- take him up on it.

I believe there are still Joust Cocktail overlays and joystick/button sets available out there and ArcadeShop has replacement shafts and Williams boardsets are always available on ePay.

A chance to restore a true, rare classic.

Cheers.

CheffoJeffo,

Thanks.  I've seen three in person, all converted.  Two are mine now :). This one is, by far, going to be the easiest to restore.  The other two had the bottom of the control base cut out to accept deeper controls.  This one doesn't.  Actually, Oscar (Kelsey) has the other one...wonder if I should make him another offer...hahahaha.

I figure it should cost less than $250 to restore it to near-perfect.  The hardest thing to find is a set of cocktail joystick bases for the cabinet.

Ken,

I've got one other person, who PM'ed me before you posted, interested in buying it from me.  I'll post pictures later today and PM you and this other person with a buy price.

Keep in mind that I'm really looking to get a nice non-working midway cabinet in trade for this and will consider any trades before letting it go for cash.

Thanks,
Todd

I have a Midway Space Invaders cocktail. It needs a cap kit, but it's all there and was working fine up until a few weeks ago. Condition is definitely above average, but it has some scratches here & there. There are very few things I'd turn loose of it for, a Joust cocktail is one of those things.

stingrayg4@gmail.com if you're interested in discussing this further. I'm in Oklahoma.

Stingray,

Email sent.  This is definately the type cab and condition I'm looking for.  Distance may be a problem though and Michigan is not very fun to visit in the winter :)
