Anyone know about how heavy a standard Lusid cab is?
« on: March 01, 2006, 10:28:28 am »
I've searched the posts, and if I missed it somewhere...sorry

Getting ready to put one together, and trying to figure out how to move / transport this monster around.  It will have 4P CP (Gauntlet style) if that helps.

I will be using MDF (back hurts just thinking about it)  :P

Thanks for any help!

I used 3/4" MDF and mine was about 150-200lbs empty. This is just an estimate as I never really measured it. I also removed the CP when we would move it.

Good luck. I strongly suggest locking casters. I will definately be doing this on my next one.

Yep she'll be a heffer for sure. I transport mine around using a 4 wheel cart thing used to move furniture.

Tell me about it... my last cab came out at just over 230Lbs empty.... I'm building my new one from MDF and lightening the structure and it's still WAY heavy.  Not great on a second story modern wood floor. My cab lives in the spare bedroom.

This time it's being built in sections so that I can get it up and down the stairs without killing myself.

Damn! I had no idea - I figured... 100ish lbs. Sounds like we need a warning label
