KorTek 25''
« on: February 28, 2006, 01:45:55 pm »
Hi, I have been searching for a 25/24.8 inch multisync monitor. I belive my best bet would be to go for the  KT-xx14. I have tried emailing them but no response. I tried calling the number I found and left messages but never got calls back. Does anybody know how I could get ahold of this monitor?. the number betson gave me led to some guys voicemail and he never returned my calls! Thanks!

in my opinion kortek are a bad monitor, the best i have worked with in 20 years in the amusement industry are hantarex, the hanterax polostar comes in many different sizes and is auto range/auto frequency and the picture is excellent-if you can get this in the states it would be worthwhile.checkout www.hanterax.co.uk for specs and i think ken knows the dealers in the u.s.i have never had to repair a polostar and at my last two companys we must have had 50 of these in cabs-its a good sign that this is very reliable, versatile monitor.

hmm I havnt heard to much about those and that link isnt working atm. I will try it again when I get home from work. Tnx for the quick reply.  Would they have 25'' or 24.8'' multisync ones? I want to be able to display mame in its 15khz (600x200) while also being able to play some newer games in 30+khz (800x600+rez). Only prob is finding one of these in 25''. I think my cab would fit a 27 but i would need to tweak the mounting brackets :-/ . Thanks for info I will deffinitly looks into those.

UPDATE: ok i got on the site and checked out spec's.. that 25'' polostar seems amazing. But im not sure it would be good for my cab. The mounts looks different. I have the corner mounts in my Original MK2 cab that were being used with a k7000 25''. I dont think it would be as simple as dropping that one in. Would i need to put on new mounts? If so do they come with them? And anyone know any US vendors for these ?(ken)? thanks!

yup i belive you are right. It was replaced a few times with used ones. But if im going to be spending all this money on a brand new monitor i may as well go for the multi khz supported ones.

Actaully in the USA Hantarex sucks and Kortek is good.

USA Hantarex distributor: www.belamny.com

Kortek monitors are on sale at www.penn-ray.com (in sales flyer PR07)

Kortek master distributor/repair center: www.casinotech.com

Many video slot machines are using Kortek monitors now.

*sigh* Ok. Problems. Kortek supposivly no longer make the KT-xx14 in 25''. WG no longer makes the med rez 25'' K7500. and to get one of the 25'' polostar it will cost well over 600$. The guy at belamny says i could get a "Sharp Image MED rez 25'' cga/ega" Are these any good? hes offering it for 400$. I may end up going for this as I am out of ideas. If anyone knows where to get ahold of that kortek 25'' multisync i would be greatfull. Thanks for any suggestions!

That's funny, Happ Controls' latest sales flyer shows them (Happ) carrying the brand new 24.8" Wells-Gardner k7500 monitors!

Edit:

Sharp Image (now out of business!) monitors were in general Kortek brand relabeled with the Sharp Image name. Sharp Image also used some Sony special monitors.

man I called them back and i guess all they have is the chassis not the complete monitor. So Ken do you think getting this sharp image one would a bad idea because they are out of buisiness? Im kinda out of ideas here and I really dont want to settle for a standard res. Or mayby I will have to mod my cabs mounts to fit a 27''.

UPDATE: I did some searching and found an old post from you Ken and there was number for kortek. I called and got ahold of this guy who had me call another number. I called and spoke to an asian guy I could hardly understand but from what he said a few months ago they came out with a new version of the KT-xx14. It is the 25b model and is Dyna-Flat. He quoted me at 250$?! for it and i just sent them a pdf to my machine so they can make sure it will fit in. Hopefully this works out! I will keep this topic updated with any info I get back from them too help any other users who are having same probs as me.

oh man..  That's gonna make me sick if you can buy one for $250 since I just bought one last week for $425 :)  of course, its a 27" and its not flat.. which is more authentic I guess but I think I prefer the looks of a flat one.  The geometry is better on them I think.
