I know it may sound lame to some of you who are just great with computers and stuffbut I just have to let you all in on how proud I am of myself!
I got MCM working, I enabled the trackball and rewired some buttons my husband commented he didn't like, and I programmed my pause and escape buttons to make life a bit easier for everyone!
I have been tinkering with the cabinet little by little and it is coming together quite well! My husband designed up my Marquee so maybe I will go have that printed. I have read that some people have things reverse printed onto Plexiglass. How does that work? Do I have to go buy the plexi and take it to them? Will places like Kinkos do that?
I will get some pics up in the projects page when I am done.
I just needed to do my little brag! If you only knew how computer illiterate I am you would be most impressed!

OH my next accomplishment is going to be figuring out how to make the high score program work. Any step by step would help here! I am going to go research! I would like to get this done tonight, then I can go to sleep happy!

Go to the following link:
http://www.mameworld.net/highscore/download.htm

and download the latest files. According to the site, it says you simply extract this .zip to the same directory as your mame.exe... and viola, you have high scores.

Don't know if it works, but I assume it does. I am gonna give it a go myself tonite... will let ya know.

congrats! good feeling, eh? as most people here know, im pretty bad with computers and i constantly whine here about it. MAME is good because it seems pretty rock solid once you've figured it out- nothing will mysteriously change on you overnight like windows seems to do for instance.

the high score file works well for most games. some wont save but you cant have EVERYTHING  for free  ;) . and like thesmit says, its pretty much just a file like 'samples' and 'roms'.

now hurry up with those pics!
