Got a counter top arcade. It was gutted out. Need some suggestions

 on monitor, and  how to do the  wiring ..
 I want to rebuild this counterTop, to a MAME  and what kind of monitor should i put in there . I
 believe a 13" fits in there .  and how do i do the wiring??/
   Can you guys and gals tell me what would u do ? and where can i read up on building a small mame .

If I had that cab, I'd buy a 13" LCD screen for the front and a mobo for the back. Hack a Sidewinder for the controls. Wiring would be a breeze.

Sidewinder is a control pad by Microsoft. It has nice solderable holes on the PCB and is USB ready, so it'll be a cinch to hack. The flat screen monitor can plug right in to a VGA card.

You won't have to fool around with JPACs or Arcade VGA cards this way. Just a little drilling, and wham, you have a killer bartop game.

This is the type I used before I built a cabinet. I thought I'd have to scrape contacts, etc. but I was able to solder wires directly in to clearly marked points on the board itself. I then screwed the board to the bottom of my control panel and it worked like a peach.

Before I discovered the JPAC, this was the route I was going to use on my cab (the advantage the JPAC has is that I could plug it in to the existing JAMMA harness already in my cabinet). It is just as responsive as anything out there.
