I will offer asking price, if I think it's fair. Sometimes I am surprised at just how fair an asking price can be. This was one of those times.

But alas, it was not meant to be ::) ::)

If I understand it right, Nostrebor offered the guy $75 for the Star Castle which is what he has it listed for:

i have the two games above, unfortunately though either my wife or my kid neither one is fessing up backed something into the front of the star castle in the garage, cracked the particle board on the very front in two places, repairable, but cracked. did not hurt the sides, did not damage the coin door or the control panel..

Cinemtronics Star Castle, now has two cracks in the particle board
on front of the game, game is complete, nonworking $75.00 FIRM

It is my understanding that KSKID then told Nostrebor that he wanted to sell the Star Castle as a pair with the Battlezone and for the trouble of separating them, the price would be $100.

WTF?  Are the machines bolted together?  The machine magically gets damaged, you list the price for $75, then reneg on that price and then accuse a respected member here of wanting a handout?

I call shenanigans.

You are going straight to the bad sellers list.

As I mentioned to you elsewhere, I would have definitely gone in with you on this because I'd love to get that Pong cocktail. Sadly, Kansas is still too far to drive if I'm not 100% certain that the deal will still be there when I arrive.

Just to be clear.

I offered him the asking price for the SC, if he did not sell the games as a group. I was more than willing to let him close the package deal with someone else, if he could get that done. My offer was to be a fallback position, and I offered to pay in full, in advance.

I also want to mention that I am only responding to clarify what others are saying. If KSKID would like to come into this thread and discuss the facts of the deal, I am more than willing to do that. If he asks me to not clarify my position, I will honor that request as well.

i stated 75.00 in my post i will stick to it, but i am not selling off piece by piece until the ad has been up for awhile, i want to sell all three or four pieces together, i live in a rural community anyway, didnt really think anyone would drive clear to bum fuk egypt for one game for 75.00, i dont really know why i am considered a bad seller when i havent even sold anyhting yet, no money has changed hands, i did not rip anyone off nor did i send anyone a box of rocks, WTF. I have over 300 feedbacks on ebay, i consider myself a good seller, i apologize if i have stepped on anyones toes, but nostrebor emailed some comments off the board that didn't set too well with me and my reasoning therefore not to do business with him, thats MY CHOICE, if he wishes to vent his frustrations on the forum i have no problems with that, but everyone shouldn't be soo quick to place judgement.

I agree that you have a choice to deal with whomever you wish. I have the same choice.

My off-board comments were as professional as my on-board comments, and you now leave me no choice but to post the email exchange verbatim below to prove it.

You have chosen to slander me on a public forum. I have not treated you that way. If you retract your slander and apologize for it on this thread, I'll let the deal slide, and will retract my buyer beware warning. It is only fair.

(note to readers: the email exchange starts at the bottom and works it's way up)

Quote
You asked why I posted buyer beware on the BYOAC boards...

2 reasons.

1. I have tried to deal with you on this cabinet twice. The first time you hedged telling me that the front was damaged, then got bent out of shape when I wanted to pay a bit less because of the damage. Then you basically lied to me, telling me it was sold. Time passes by, and you post it for sale again, with no mention of the damage, on BYOAC. I considered ignoring it, until you lowered the price to $75. Then I decided to give you the benefit of the doubt. Maybe you were having a bad day or something before when we were dealing. Well, you decide that you'll just raise the price... I figure that it is worth my time to let others know that you are jacking around with me on this thing.

2. I am an established member of BYOAC. You can do a search of my posts and see that I am very much against poisoning a BST thread, but 2 times we try to deal, and 2 times you dance. I have peers on there that need to know that.

I was more than willing to let you have the opportunity to sell your games as a group. Said it in my first mail. I just wanted a shot at the game at the publicly asked price, if you chose to go the seperate route. Simple. You chose greed, over integrity.

I will be more than happy to discuss this with you on the forum in public, if you prefer. I will not post details of our email exchange without your consent. I will share this story privately with any potential buyer that asks. I owe that to my community forum members, of which many have helped me out in the past with no greed attached.

I sincerely hope that you sell all your games, and make money doing it.

        Corey,

You advertised seperate prices for your games including a price of $75 firm for the Star Castle on the message boards. Then you advertised a seperate offer of $200 if someone would take all. Where I'm from this is called "take them single at this price or package deal at this price". Honestly, if you wanted $100 you shouldn't have asked $75 on a public forum. Good luck in selling your games.

                Hi Corey,

Thanks for the reply back. I don't have anything on your trade list ATM. If you do  decide to sell seperate, and can stand me picking it up in late April/early May, I'll go the $75. Just let me know, and I'll toss you the money to hold it.

                        Hi there!

Noticed your Star Castle back for sale on KLOV... Could you remind me again about the details on it?

As I recall, it was complete with all parts, boards and etc. but with a broken front panel. Art was Rock-Ola. Do you have a feel for what is wrong? Power up at all? Any water damage? etc...

I am interested, but could not come up to get it for at least a month (we are moving in 2 weeks).  Is this a problem? Would you be willing to meet me at St Joseph, or somewhere between us?

If we could nail down a few of these details, I will be glad to pay for it to hold it, and come get it out of your way as soon as I can.

                        LMK,

You don't have to like me. That is not the issue.

The issue is that I have friends on this board that deserve to deal with honest people. This is Saint's community, and it's important to me that I do my part to take out the trash. I've given you plenty of opportunity to be a man. You're just not up to the task.

Maybe we did get off on the wrong foot.

I offered a trade of a bubbles for a defender. You felt it wasn't a good deal. I said OK thanks and moved on. No harm done. I have the PM exchange handy, if you would like to see it.

The first time you offered the SC, I was interested. It was at $175. I offered $150. You said that it was damaged. I became much less interested, but offered $125. You said you would MAME it first, or pass it to a neighbor. Then you maild me saying it was sold. I just assumed your neighbor had it ;) No harm done.

You offer it up for sale again, lower the price to a great deal, I offer to pay asked price if you will hold it until I move. You raise the price. I say well that sucks, and thanks but no thanks. I'm trying to figure out what I did to make you not like me? So far it has simply been trying to do business with you.

But hey! Good luck in life and all that it brings you.

Dave.

haha.... wow. just wow.

Another person to add to my Do Not Trade list.

You need to learn some tact and realize that lowballing and lower offers are a normal part of forum selling.  It ALWAYS happens.  You show some restraint, counter offer, or outright decline and move on.  There is no need to attack someone because they offered less than you were asking.  I hope you never have a garage sale, you'll probably get arrested for stabbing someone for offering you a nickel for something you wanted a buck for.

If you don't want to deal with negotiations, stay off forums.  You'll never just sell everything you have at list price.  It doesn't happen that way.  Most people actually ENJOY the haggling part of the deal on forums.  If you don't like it, go back to eBay.

  • HAH! Nice one!
    • A lifelong project

in the future i suggest you try not to lowball everyones asking price or try to trade something i dont even have a remote interest in

He didn't lowball "everyone's" asking price, and the price offered INITIALLY - I'm emphasizing that point because following what's going on doesn't seem to be your strong point - INITIALLY you were offered what anyone here would consider a fair counter offer.  You're simply an idiot if you consider that a "lowball" offer.  THEN he offered you EXACTLY WHAT YOUR ASKING PRICE WAS THE *******SECOND****** TIME.

Again, you're an idiot if you're telling us now that meeting your asking price was a "lowball" offer.

There was no way of knowing PRIOR TO ASKING YOU - PRIOR means BEFORE, to help you follow along sparky - if you would have been interested in his items to trade, so if you're claiming he was trying to "hoodwink" you by offering a trade when you had STATED you were interested in a trade, you're an idiot.

Lastly, you very well may have 300 feedbacks on e-bay.  I notice you don't specify, much like the broken control panel on the Star Castles, if they're GOOD feedbacks, merely that you *have* them.  Congratulations.  Seeing as how I've pointed out that you're a liar, unless you can show us you actually HAVE an e-bay account, no one here has any reason to believe another of your claims.  Guess what?  Now you have feedback HERE too, and NONE of it is positive because you're demonstrating yourself to be two things.

1.  You are a liar.  Stating you'd sell something for one price and then saying it will cost him another, higher, price, means you're a liar.  There IS NO NICE WAY TO PUT IT.

2.  You're an ass.  You've meandered back and forth, both nicely with Dave when wanting to do the deal, to blowing him off, back to being nice to him, then telling him maybe you don't like him, to now acting as if the problem is the written word that is easily discernible to everyone BUT you, that demonstrates you're the asshat in this deal.

Dave has demonstrated far more class than everyone else here in his replies to you, but you've chosen to deal with him as if he's a pariah in this community.  You've made a mistake many here won't soon forget.  How you've treated him should speak loudly to everyone considering buying your machines, and your failure to see you're acting like an ass is what's more than likely the cause of your inability to sell these machines.

Telling Dave to get a life?  I'd throw my money at you if I were him.  In nickels.  One by one.

in the future i suggest you try not to lowball everyones asking price or try to trade something i dont even have a remote interest in

Guess what?  Now you have feedback HERE too, and NONE of it is positive because you're demonstrating yourself to be two things.

;D This has quickly become my favorite thread!!!!  I usually don't like to get involved with a lot of these types of "intellectual" conversations but, I work with Dave and can say that I stand by his posts and can vouch for his integrity like most of everyone here.  Drew, I actually peed a little with your last post!  I may be the only one but, when you read KSKID's replies, do you hear the voice of Zoolander too?

-End of Line-
You mean I can type anything I want in here and it will show up?

  • Saint and Woogie let me back in!
haha.... wow.

If you don't like it, go back to eBay.

if i do have a garage sale, i sure HOPE you are the first one to show up.

haha, now you're resorting to immature intarweb threats of stabbing me, are we?

Perhaps we should both whip it out and measure next?

Grow the hell up kid.  And if you aren't a kid... I sure hope you had some kind of head trauma at some point, cuz you can't be serious with this crap.
first off your and idiot

Man I love the internet, haha.

i know i brought all this one myself, but i am trying to make the best of it and get along with everyone.

More like a school of jellyfish. Potentially just as dangerous, but lacking the organization.

KSKID,
I'll tell you most of the problem.  You come off like a complete ass.  You posted above that after throwing the pics up, you were pissed no one bought them after you put so much effort into it.  You also put a retarded link post on klov saying you're too lazy to post the details.  That combined with you just flat out disrespecting Dave, is the asshat trifecta.

This combination of stupid moves has labeled you.  You are the guy who will show up in the software forum, cry like a ---smurfette--- that you can't get mamewah to work and when someone tries to help you out, you'll get pissy because they didn't come over and personally fix it themselves.  You know what, go get your head out of your ass(see asshat trifecta), try to kiss ass a little on here, and maybe you'll be welcomed with open arms.  In the meantime, stop trying to save face in this thread, sit the hell down, and relax.  You have wronged a member in very high standing here and your attitude comes off a little arrogant.  We need nothing from you, you are here because you need something from us.
