Sweet Marquee
« on: February 16, 2003, 01:08:39 pm »
Guys,

I am in the process of creating a marquee for my new cab.  I am looking for some high res artwork of games like Marvel vs Capcom, Frogger, Centipede, etc.  I have already exhausted Oscarcontrols.com's wonderful art collection and really need a few more characters to even out the marquee.. Any links would be greatly appreciated.. I am especially interested in very high res stuff.

Thanks Again,
Killr0y

Guys,

Thanks for your help!  I found a couple more characters that round out my marquee nicely.  Here is a "thumbnail" of my marquee.  The actual res is 5600x1600 and razor sharp!

Please let me know what you think

Great name!

I am usually don't care for the character montages, but that looks pretty good.

Real Life.  Still a poor substitute for video games!

I really appreciate the positive feedback, guys  ;D

I may actually make more than one and switch them out every once in a while to keep things fresh.. then when i scrape up enough money for a second cab, i can use the second marquee.

Speaking of which, I know Kinko's does some kind of printing on backlit plastic under their "posters & signs" products on their web page.  Has anyone used them and if so, what kind of quality is the output & how much does it run?

Thanks!

I definitely favor a more classical 'one game' marquee over the more busy looking multi character montages, but I do have to say that you did a real nice job on that one.  It's still too many colors for me personally, but it's very sharp.  Very good job!

Just to give a heads up--I recently sent some hi-res picks I took of pacman, frogger, Tron and Q-bert to a guy on this board to post on his website (i'll withhold the name until he's ready to go--and let him announce when he's ready)  Anyways, you could then use the actual marquee characters instead of the WMF or cartooney ones that are available on the net.
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

Swisher sweet!   Actually almost all of my characters are razor sharp high res, but it couldn't hurt to check those new ones out.. post that link as soon as you get it!!  I might use some for the sideart!
