Lunacade - Does anyone actually own one?
« on: February 16, 2006, 03:49:41 pm »
Hi There,

The Lunacade has been around for a while, and they have a very slick web site (http://www.lunacade.com). However, the thing is very expensive. Hence, out of curiousity, my questions:

- Has anyone out there bought one?
- If yes, what are they like IRL?

Cheers
Olaf

Nice looking, but for $600+ not including monitor and computer?  That seems really high.  Are there any plans floating around for tabletop cabs like this?

Very rough translation of that site:

At the time of the assembly of my terminal "AtomicJamie", I had made the decision to photograph the stages of construction with in the one day idea making an Internet site of it... and to make some benefit from other Net surfers. In front of the insistence of many users of the forum whom I attend (they will be recognized; -) veiled which is made thing!

The order
I think that is needed start to greet the fact that one can entirely configure his terminal of arcade on the site of Lunacade before placing his order. The module "Customize" particularly is successful and very interactive (http://www.lunacade.com/customize.html)

The reception
First good point (and you will see that there are others of them): I received the parcel in less than one week! I must acknowledge that I expected a time much longer!

Packing
Compact packing out of very thick paperboard. With the interior one are well on the elements to go up, but also another limps containing the assembled pre elements: the control panel and the part light neon and loudspeakers) All the other elements are arranged in compartments: laminate panels, pieces of wood, live and pivots, plexi of screen and the "marquee", the bolt and the key, the amplifier, the extension cables

Thanks for the post and translation.

It therefore appears, in effect, that pretty much nobody on this forum has one, which is probably a good indication of sales.

Furthermore, at that price, you paying a lot of money for an (almost) empty desktop cab.

That's the problem with arcade kits ;-) and the AtomicJamie is far from what the other are practicing ;-)

Just follow those links...and you will see by yourself:
