Klipsch question
« on: February 15, 2006, 04:20:34 pm »
hi, I am thinking of using a Klipsch 4.1 Sub and 2 Eclipse 3way 5 1/4 car speakers in my cab. What I need to know is this;

if i only use 2 4ohm speakers will it work, or since th amp is desgined for 4 4ohm speakers will the amp be putting out 8ohms, and cause the amp to shut down?

I know several people use the 2.1 sub, but after upgrading my  PC to Logitech 5500's I have the 4.1 setup available. i would use the klipsch satellites, but the shape and size become troublesome to work with in my UAII cab. so i decided to go for the easier to mount eclipses.

thanks for any help,
Lon

Each channel from the amp is separate. So it will not matter if you use just two of the channels. The only way to affect the ohms is running the two speaker on one channel either in a parallel or series config.
